  • Quotes about our school

Our school has a long-term commitment to providing every child with a wide range of opportunities to develop their physical skills through high-quality sporting activities. We recognise that physical health is closely linked to mental health and wellbeing, and we place physical development and fitness alongside literacy and numeracy as a key priority for every pupil.

Our aim is for all children to enjoy being active, develop confidence and competence in physical activity, and acquire the skills and habits that support a healthy, active lifestyle throughout their lives.

Our commitment to high-quality physical education and school sport is reflected in our achievements, including gaining the Platinum School Games Award for a third consecutive year and holding the Wellbeing Award for Schools since 2022, with successful reaccreditation in 2026.

Our Plans for This Year

The additional PE and Sport Premium funding allocated to the school will continue to have a positive impact on the quality of provision, pupil participation and sporting outcomes.

This funding will be used to:

  • Partially fund specialist sports coaching.
  • Increase opportunities for children to access extracurricular sports clubs.
  • Purchase and maintain high-quality PE and sports equipment.
  • Continue to develop partnerships with local primary and secondary schools to enhance sporting opportunities.

Children in Key Stages 1 and 2 will have regular opportunities to represent the school in inter-school competitions, festivals and tournaments, helping to develop teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.

Throughout the year, pupils will participate in a wide range of sporting activities, including Tag Rugby, Dodgeball, Squash, Cricket, Dance, Football and Athletics. They will also take part in Multi-Skills festivals, Boccia and Cross Country events, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience a variety of sports and physical challenges.

To find out more about how we are using the PE and Sport Premium funding, and to view our spending plans and impact evaluation, please see the documents linked below.
