Last Wednesday we held our Sports Day, which just happened to be on the hottest day of the year!
The heat did not stop the children (and parents) giving their all in the different events. The childrenĀ represented themselves and their houses brilliantly; supporting the different children during their events.
In the morning, Early Years and Key Stage One took part in running and obstacle events earning points for their houses. By the time their events were finished, St Andrews were standing in the lead.
The Key Stage Two children and our afternoon Nursery came out in the afternoon to again try and earn points for their respective house. They competed in a variety of running, obstacle and throwing events and we were also able to see a wonderful performance from our young dancers; performing their two dances that they had recently performed at the dance festival.
After all the events, including some very exciting relay races, the points were added up from the morning and afternoon events, and the winning house was St Georges. The house captains were awarded the trophy during Friday’s Assembly.
During the day, money was being raised for Diabetes UK through the sales of refreshments and raffle tickets to win fruit and vegetable hampers. We are delighted to announce, that through your support, we were able to raise a fantastic Ā£89.31.
This was definitely the best sports day for several years, and we at SS Peter and Paul would like to thank all the parents that came to support their children, took park in the parent races and also volunteered to run our refreshment stall. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Well done to everyone involved!
