Children from Year 5 and 6 took part in a football match against St Andrews this week, demonstrating a high standard of teamwork and sportsmanship. In the first half we went up 1-0 thanks to a brilliantly crafted goal by Boyd. In the second half, St Andrews scored a goal to make it 1-1, with the ball trickling past our goal keeper. In the final moments of the match, it looked as though St Andrews were going to score a winning goal but Kacper denied them the chance of winning with fantastic goal-keeping acrobatics. The game ended as a draw but in a friendly penalty shootout, St Peter and Paul’s won by 10 goals to 5.
Here is Boyd’s goal – including an excellent celebration dedicated to the people of Ukraine.
We are extremely proud of our team and if you see them around school, be sure to congratulate them on their result.
