Here are the children that received praise this week!
Six children, who were nominated by staff, attended the Mayor’s Christmas Party today at the Civic Centre. The children participated in lots of activities including singing songs, having a photoshoot with a green screen and made Christmas crafts.
Additionally, the children met the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Santa, Rudolph and some special guests from the Beauty and the Beast Pantomime at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre.
Early Years loved seeing some of the animals from The Nativity when the Farm on Wheels came to visit us today!
Year 2 loved reactivating their Great Fire of London knowledge through Now Press Play. They interacted with the story, used fire squirts to put out the fires, rowed boats, brought food from the bakery and even rang the church bells to alert the people of London about the fire. We were lucky enough to have Samuel Pepys on our journey and meet King Charles II.
This afternoon, some of our year 6 children represented the school in a quicksticks event at Aldersley. The children did brilliantly and showcased the skills they have been learning in their PE lessons. The children played 5 games, winning 3, drawing 1 and losing 1. Well done!
Congratulations to today’s ’12 days of Christmas’ Attendance Challenge Winners!
On the final day, the children did their final activities including archery and low ropes. They then all came together to participate in team games such as cricket, rounders football and frisbee!
On the children’s second day, they have split to do different activities this morning. Groups 1 and 2 went off to do some kayaking and canoeing while groups 3 and 4 developed their teamwork on the low ropes and then participated in archery, demonstrating wonderful progress.
After a lunch of hot dogs, pasta, jacket potatoes and pasties, groups 1 and 2 participating in bivvy shelter making, the low ropes, underground maze and axe throwing. Groups 3 and 4 went to participate in Kayaking and Canoeing.
After dinner, the children have done their last activity of the day which was either low ropes or the underground maze.
The children will have two more activities tomorrow, including ‘team games’, before having lunch and returning to school.
After arriving and having a tour of the grounds, the children enjoyed their first activity in their groups which was either Axe throwing, Abseiling or making bivvy shelters.
They then had their dinner which consisted of either chicken tikka masala, beef chilli, vegetarian chilli, pork, waffle fries, vegetables and a donut for dessert.
After some free time in their rooms, the children have just finished their last activity of the day with some other groups abseiling, making bivvy shelters or going in the underground maze.
It has been wonderful to see children being risk takers, facing their fears, being confident communicators and collaborators.
