Congratulations to our youngest learners, who completed 9 laps of the field to complete the London Mini Marathon! Exercise is the word of the week – they have also done lots of exercise in PE – practising skills they have learnt this half term in balancing, rolling, jumping and crawling.
Thank you to Paul Wilcox (from the Wolverhampton Music School), who came to do a music workshop with our Year 3 and Year 6 children. They experienced lots of different instruments and created their own bands!
Here are the children who received praise this week!
We are continuing to be active this April and promoting different ways children can be more active. See our video below:
Yesterday, 12 of our Year 5/6 children attended the Sandwell Aquatic Centre for an aquatic festival! They enjoyed a tour of the facility whilst also meeting Perry the Bull, the mascot from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The children were able to participate in a ‘dry diving’ session and a water safety lesson. They then got changed and went down to the pool to experience a range of different activities from diving from a 3m platform, water polo, synchronised swimming and performing different swimming strokes from a diving start.
The school is due to have an inspection undertaken by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate on 17th and 18th April 2024.
Please see this letter from the Chair of our Local Governing body.
CSI Notice for Parents April 24
Children were visited today by a brand new HGV Cab from Mainline Haulage, a family run business in the city of Wolverhampton. It is their 50th Anniversary next month and they wanted to raise awareness of the Vehicle Haulage sector. Children were able to have a look at the sleeping quarters, explore the cab including the fridge, cameras, iPad and sit in the driver’s seat. They particularly enjoyed pressing the horn.
We were also incredibly grateful that they thoughtfully donated new high vis jackets for us to wear when we are on our own travels, proudly worn here by School Council! Thank you to all at Mainline Haulage who made this memorable day possible.
Yesterday, we invited parents of children in Nursery and Reception to a maths focussed workshop with the aim to help parents support their children with maths at home and also give them an idea into how it is delivered through our curriculum in school.
Thank you to the families that attended, a reminder that you can look at the slides and suggested links here: Family Workshops
