Several of our younger classes have been visiting Wildside over the last few days. They have done some wonderful activities as you can see below:
Here are the children who received praise this week!
Today we participated in a Wolves Foundation football event at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground. The children who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were so excited to play against the other teams. We were very proud to get through to the quarter finals – what a tremendous achievement!
Yesterday, we acknowledged Hello Yellow Day in school while also linking in our work with zones of regulation. Children were able to dress in yellow or green (for the green zone) and there was a focus on our mental health throughout the day in all classes. This included a special SSPP Inside Out video and lots of mindful doodling!!
Nursery children had a wonderful time at Wildside yesterday. In the morning they walked along the canal collecting natural objects such as stones, sticks and leaves. Then they all made a garden to take home, using the things they had collected, a plant and some sparkly stones.
In the afternoon we did pond dipping, bug hunting, built a den and had some free time to play.
Thank you to Wildside Activity Centre for providing this experience free of charge.
Yesterday, some of our pupils, who have been demonstrating excellent commitment to logging their reading, visited Wolverhampton Grammar School for a ‘meet the author’ event.
The children met A.F. Steadman, who shared multiple books with them, including her most recent book – Skandar and the Unicorn Thief! As part of the event, the children also helped design a new unicorn character for her book!
Yesterday, Year 2 hosted a Class Liturgy on their class saint – St Thérèse of Lisieux. They shared all their acts of kindness through Little Way Week, and reflected with their families who else they could help with an act of kindness!
