Yesterday, some Year 5 and 6 children attended a dodgeball event competing against 9 other schools. It was a very tight competition, with some very close matches. I was very proud of the children’s attitude and manner, with them modelling respect at the end of every match by shaking the oppositions hand. We were proud to have finished 5th overall.
Our Year 6 Liturgy Leaders are glad to say thank you for your food bank donations collected before half term.
We were inspired by Blessed Carlo Acutis, our Parish patron Saint, who lived the gospel in active service of those in need.
This food is on the way to meet local need – we thank families for giving thoughtful and generous donations.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for visiting us with the learning pod yesterday to enrich our safeguarding and personal development curriculum.
As part of the visit, Year 5 and Year 6 were taught life-saving CPR skills.
Pupils from Nursery to Year 6 have a learned a lot and are more passionate than ever to continue to support the charity after hearing about the call out rate and operation costs. So far we have raised £775.
School Council will meet to consider how we can top this up with another collective effort.
To support our new play leaders in becoming confident communicators and collaborators, we sent them on some training at Wolverhampton Grammar School on Tuesday.
They learnt some new activities that they could bring into school to support our Key Stage 1 children and also helped plan some sessions. To practise, they delivered training their session to children from other schools.
Many thanks to the families that attended our Concept Cat workshops. The development of language and communication is a key focus within our Early Years setting.
