This morning, we were treated to a Year 6 Leavers’ assembly. The children shared their memories, talents, songs and aspirations. We are so proud of them and wish them all the best in the future!
Congratulations to our youngest children who graduated from Nursery last week!
On Friday, we had our annual End of Year Awards, where our teaching staff nominate pupils for awards around the curriculum including reading, writing, maths, sports and behaviour. We also have two special awards: The Spirit of SS Peter and Paul and the Blessed Carlo Award.
This year, Dante was awarded with the Spirit of SS Peter and Paul award for his attitude and seeing how his confidence has grown. The Blessed Carlo award went to Ala, who displays the qualities of Catholic life in all she does. Well done everyone!
On Friday, our Reception class celebrated their end of year by enjoying a prom!!
On Friday, as a reward for collecting the most bottles in the Reconomy project, Year 6 went to Molineux and had a guided tour of the stadium and museum.
On Wednesday, Year 1 went on a Geography activity day to Wildside. They reactivated their Geography learning by looking for human and physical features during a canal walk. They also experienced orienteering for the first time by map reading and using a compass. The children will continue using these skills in school this week.
Reception enjoyed their class trip to the Library. Lots of parents joined us to share stories and become members of the library. Some of us even borrowed some books.
Our Nursery visited Burntwood Alpacas; children had hands-on experience of guinea pigs, goats, alpacas, chickens, snakes and lizards. They also collected an egg from the hen house to take home, had a picnic and had lots of fun on the bouncy pillow!
We are delighted to announce that we, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy, have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
With our young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
Today, we continued our Feast day (Rainbow Day) celebrations by having a Colour Run in school! The children have been asked to raise sponsorship to help develop an amphitheatre on the school grounds! As you can see from the images, a wonderful day was had in school, and we look forward to seeing how much money has been raised!
