We were invited to join other schools during Children’s Mental Health Week at the Molineux to walk a mile with Wolfie. This was about walking and talking, making the link between physical health and mental wellbeing. Not only did they get to walk their mile around the pitch, they also visited the home team changing room and came out the tunnel to start their walk! Afterwards, team games, arts and crafts followed. A great event organised by the Wolves Foundation.Â

As part of Geography week Year 6 extended their learning about the Rainforests of Brazil, by planning and delivering campaigns connected to caring for our common home. It is essential to our catholic curriculum to make links between what we learn and how this relates to Catholic Social Teaching. Each team created props and posters and one group even had a mascot. They shared their pitch’s in a whole school assembly, sharing compelling evidence willing us to take action ourselves. This was a great way to further extend oracy skills – what confident, articulate and knowledgeable young people!
House Captains organised a maths challenge for Y5 & 6, Y3 & 4 and Y1 & 2 today and this was a great success. Our House Captains wrote the challenge questions and then led three challenge sessions in the hall where pairs worked together to have a go at solving the problems. Great fun was had by all and this pupil – led event was a superb success. House Captains marked all the answers and collated the points, revealing Cleary to be the winners on this occasion! Thank you to Mrs Walker, our Maths Coordinator, for planning a brilliant Numbers Day for us this year.
Two groups represented our school at the Wolves Foundation Social Action project finals this week. They had to talk about a project they have designed all about making a difference. Visitors came and listened to each school pitch their idea and pupils had questions to answer to help them expand on their ideas further. Several schools attended and we were very proud to be the only school to take Year 4 children to be part of this great opportunity. This shows the level of maturity, confidence and teamwork that they are capable of, competing against older finalists from other settings. Well done to all of the pupils involved.
Year 5 had an incredible night taking part in Young Voices 2026. They have been learning the songs and dance routines over the last term and finally enjoyed participating and experiencing the show on Monday 26th January.
Year 5 prepared and led their own Celebration of the Word in the chapel at St. Edmund’s to mark the feast of the conversion of Saint Paul which occurs annually on January 25th.

Pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 proudly took part in the mixed multi-skills competition after school on Monday 12th January. They demonstrated excellent traits of sportsmanship, resilience and Mrs Byrne was very proud of every child. Six stations included opportunities to practice the skill of balance, hand-eye coordination, speed jumping and rebound catching. It was a pleasure to see the children compete, have fun and cheer one another on.
In our Early Years setting today, children enjoyed an interactive retelling of the story Dear Santa, then wrote their own letters to Santa.
