Congratulations to Ella in Year 3, who designed our new mascots Peter and Paul. They have now been recreated by an artist – Scott Anthony – using Ella’s original design and these will be used to celebrate positive work in school and also charitable work that supports our school’s mission.
Today as part of our partnership with Wolves Foundation, we participated in a Black History Month workshop. This was held via Zoom and focused on:
- What Black History Month is.
- What Campaigns are in football that supports Black History Month.
- History of Black History Month
- Role models & Athletes
Thank you to Wolves Foundation for doing this! Children have the opportunity to enter a poster competition and potentially win a signed Wolves shirt!
We were very grateful today to welcome some visitors into school with a donation of 8 laptops to support the learning of the children at our school, who have suffered due to Covid-19.
Pat McFadden MP, together with Wolves Foundation set up Wolves Tech Aid, and they have kindly been working with other parties such as ‘Learn Play Foundation’ and United Sikhs’ to provide refurbished laptops to schools across Wolverhampton to help support learning.
We were very fortunate today to welcome these guests to our school to provide us with these devices, and even had a special guest as Wolfie turned up!
Thank you to everyone involved!
Today, all our children promoted going green for CAFOD. The children all came in green clothes and brought donations to contribute to CAFOD. Our Year 6 children made green cakes and cookies, our year 5 children sold green ice cream and nail painting and our wonderful Year 3 children went out litter picking in the local community! The whole school learnt about how they can help protect our planet and raised over £200 – well done!
Last Friday, Local MP Stuart Anderson met our pupils to answer their questions. Our demoncratically elected School Councillers found out about his past, previous roles, his job as an MP and his hopes for the future. Most importantly they got to thank him for responding to our written request to consider helping to make it possible to have defibrillators at all schools. We were extremely grateful for his time and support and have been invited to visit the Houses of Parliament to see him again!
We are so grateful to STS Medical Ltd who provided CPR training for all our parents and children after school. A guide was given as to how to perform CPR and also how to use a defibrillator if there is one to use, which hopefully all schools will have in the near future! Another success for our school community! #SSPPthebeatgoeson
