Today, our Year 6 children contributed to the All Saints Mass at SS Peter and Paul leading the readings.
Yesterday in school, we celebrated the Feast of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the saint of our Parish, with our Year 5 children leading Mass in school. The children shared stories about his childhood and spoke about how they can relate to him in their Faith lessons.
Today in praise assembly, Mrs Griffiths presented the winning children with their mug designs and their actual mugs! She also announced that we raised a fantastic £300 for Macmillan from the competition and cake donations! Thank you everyone that contributed!
Lovely to see our Year 6 Liturgy Leaders leading our prayer in the month of the Holy Rosary! The children are leading this daily before lunch with the rest of the children invited to join.
Our Year 3 and 4 children had a workshop today about the Catholic Social Teachings. The children were spoken to about CAFOD and a little about the work they do. They watched a short video about a letter written from Pope Francis about looking after and loving our brothers and sisters. We looked at four of their nine principles – Taking part, Putting people in most need first, Thinking of everyone and showing we care. The children read through some scenarios and decided which scenario was relevant to the nine principles. The children shared some great ideas.
Today as a school community and a country, we mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her commitment to the service of this country was evident till the end, and her reign is something we will never see again.
As a school, we marked her passing this morning with a special assembly and children will spend the day remembering and celebrating her reign as our Queen.
Father Mark visited Year 4 to support them with their current RE unit around vocations. They had lots of questions for him about his work in the community and his calling to be a Priest.
What a wonderful Feast Day we have had, and what a great job raising money for mental health charities while boosting our own wellbeing and mental health.
As always, thank you to our families and the wider community for making this such a special event.
The weather couldn’t spoil the Crowning of Our Lady and our May Procession earlier today on Wednesday. Thank you to our families for sending flowers and plants to make our annual tradition a very special service indeed. Year 6 led the service beautifully with readings and prayers and the glorious singing was incredible. Thank you Father Mark for coming to share this with us today.
