Welly Wednesday and Forest Friday are firm favourites with the children.

They gather in the outdoor classroom where we begin the session with their rhythm sticks. This week we used them to create the sounds of the rain. Children listened to the sounds and suggested rain is dropping and  plippy ploppy, plippy ploppy.

Next they play blend in – can they keep very still and quiet and pretend to be a part of the natural environment?

Last week, they all collected one natural object and talked about its texture.

After some free time to explore, children finish the session back in the outdoor classroom where they sing their goodbye song.
