Today our pupils watched the live assembly about the Conclave. Children enjoyed listening to the facts and participating in a live liturgy from the Vatican city.
Children wrote prayers to Jesus asking to support the Cardinals to choose the next Pope by listening to his guidance.
Today, Tim from Albrighton Tennis Club came to do a free taster session for all of our children in Reception to Year 5.
The children did a variety of different activities which helped improve their racket and ball skills! They have all been invited to free tennis sessions in June!
An unforgettable day for some of our students! They had the incredible opportunity to visit Cressida Cowell, the brilliant author behind How to Train Your Dragon. Her stories came to life as she shared her journey, inspired our young readers, and ven signed a special copy of her book just for us!
Today, we hosted out first session of the Family Numeracy Programme as part of a government trial to support better outcomes of pupils and raise confidence in parents understanding of maths.
The parents thought about how they had already used maths in their day and then worked with their child to make a ‘multiplication flower’ to support the child’s recall of times table facts.
Our Year 6 pupils deserve special praise for their Easter Story assembly. It was deeply emotive and thought-provoking, capturing the solemnity and hope of Holy Week with maturity beyond their years. Many staff and parents commented on how powerfully they undertook specific roles to convey meaning – well done to all involved.
Our Year 3 children led their Liturgy with a focus on Lent and why is it a sacred season of preparation. The children focused on the different days in Lent and what they meant to them and the church. We ended our liturgy think about how we could be more like Jesus which links to our Holy week sculpture which was about following in Jesus’ footprints.
